This recipe is a super easy way to make beef and broccoli that the whole family will love.
We are always looking for fun and easy recipes to make during the week. When you fly in the door after work and school, you need something fast that everyone will eat. This recipe came out of having a crazy busy schedule and limited groceries.
Do you ever get in a recipe rut? I had ground beef but didn’t want to make the usual taco meat or spaghetti sauce with it. Once I saw the bag of frozen broccoli, I knew what to make.
Beef and Broccoli is always a favorite dish when eating out at Asian restaurants. We actually have 2 restaurants close by that can make a Gluten Free version. Beef and broccoli is typical made with lean steak like a sirloin. This version uses ground beef since that is what I had in the fridge. I was very happy with how it turned out.
Gluten Free Beef and Broccoli
Start by cooking the onions and ground beef. To make life easy I used frozen broccoli florets in a steamable bag.
Next combine your sauce. There are 2 options for this. One, just whisk the sauce together and pour over the beef and broccoli mixture. Two, bring the sauce to a low simmer in a small pot. If you go with option 2 make sure you watch it as it will burn if you aren’t careful.
Once the sauce is ready, combine all the ingredients. Cook on low for 5-10 minutes so all the flavors will mix together.
Serve with rice. To make dinner easier, you can use microwavable bags.
