Homemade Gluten Free Pound Cake, yes you can! That is right folks, this is a simple recipe to make homemake pound cake that will put any Gluten-filled pound cake to shame. This is a perfect dessert to take to gatherings to prove that Gluten Free desserts can be enjoyed by all.
For this recipe I chose to use Bloomfield Farms All Purpose Baking Mix for the Gluten Free flour. I like how it tastes, the texture is very fine and it browns, unlike many Gluten Free blends. Bloomfield Farms has a number of other baking mixes like cookie mix, cornbread and pizza crust. We have tried them all and keep at least one in our pantry at all times. Ingredients
- 3 cups Bloomfield Farms All Purpose Baking Mix
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 eggs
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 cup milk
- powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a Bundt pan and dust with extra flour. Shake out excess.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. In a second bowl beat the sugar, butter, vanilla, eggs and lemon zest. Beat for 2 minutes.
- Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl.
- Then slowing pour in the milk and beat on low.
- Pour batter into your Bundt pan.
- Bake for 55 minutes.
- Let cool for at least 20 minutes, then invert onto a serving dish and cake will come right out. Dust with powdered sugar.
That is how simple it can be. This recipe has a hint of lemon from the lemon zest. If you want a stronger lemon flavor add a teaspoon or two of fresh lemon zest. You can also make an orange flavored pound cake with orange zest.

I’m assuming if you don’t want lemon flavor, you can just omit and have texture the same way?! I love lemon flavor but not for use in a strawberry trifle I make

The lemon can be omitted if you want, however it is very subtle and would pair perfectly with strawberries.

What flours are in the Bloomfield mix? I don’t have that, but I have a few other mixes.

It is a rice flour blend. You can use any GF cup for cup flour blend for this recipe!

I’m curios we use Bob’s Red Mill 1-1 flour so I’m thinking it must be the same as the Flour you have in the recipe
