The Gluten Free and Allergen Free Wellness Event was August 17th in Raleigh, NC. It was filled with wonderful Gluten Free vendors, great food and amazing people! I love these events so much! I love being in a room where I know it is safe to eat ANYTHING! I also love being around people like me! All of our stories are different but we have a common bond all being Gluten Free. It feels like we are already friends.
I had a table set up to meet people, pass out recipe cards, sell my cookbook and Gluten Makes Me Sick t-shirts. So fun!!
I was honored to be the blog coordinator for the event and help over 15 local bloggers attend the event and help promote it. They are amazing people you should follow. See below for the list!
Now to the food…
Glutino brought their new pancakes. They come in a fun bottle that all you have to do is add water. They taste very good! These would be great for a vacation when you don’t want to have to bring lots of ingredients with you.
Enjoy Life Foods had their Plentils, snack mixes, cookies and bars. Always great to have in your purse for emergencies!
Udi’s was sampling some yummy muffins! Always good and a crowd favorite!
Bone Suckin’ Sauce had a huge amount of food to sample! I LOVE, LOVE their BBQ sauce and actually had to buy a jar because we were out! They had popcorn seasoning and a really good pimento cheese mix.
Moon Rabbit Foods was there with there great baking mixes! I really like their pie dough and brownie mix. Erik and Mark are great guys!
Virtuous Living spices rocked it as usual. Nichole had her spice mixes and sold tons. All you have to do is smell them and you are a believer. Literally I use her spices at least three times a week! I had to buy 3 more bottles cause I am almost out!
Luce’s Gluten Free Artisan Bread brought a new product, flat bread! Amazing! He said it is great grilled. He sold out of sourdough before I could grab a bag. His bread looks and tastes like real bread!
GFreek.com is a great resource for knowing what GF products are good. Josh and Jayme are awesome and help the GF community so much.
Kalo Foods had their baking mixes and cupcakes there. So good! These guys are also local.
Rudi’s was making cheese quesadillas with their tortillas. I may have had more than one sample, maybe! I also just used the coupon they were passing out to buy some of the tortillas.
PIZZA:
zPizza was there with with samples and coupons. I heart their ZBQ pizza so much and grab one whenever I’m close to a restaurant.
Bella Monica Flatbread Company had yummy samples and Trevor even had his pizza hat. Love this company and the people! My freezer frequently has this in it.
Against the Grain is another of my favorite frozen pizza brands. Their new pepperoni is very good. Another staple in my freezer.
CUPCAKES:
Daisy Cakes is my all time favorite cupcake place and they were my neighbor at the show. I said obnoxious comments to everyone about them all day trying to convince everyone their GF cupcakes where the best ever!
The Celiac Cakery had very yummy samples. The red velvet cake and donuts were very good!
MEDIA:
Simply Gluten Free magazine had great deals for their magazine subscriptions. I have a huge crush on Carol and her food photography!
CPT Ben Andrasik was their selling his book Gluten Free in Afghanistan. As an Air Force brat I can relate to his story. I grabbed a copy of his book and am making good progress on it already!
