Lexington Kentucky has a ton of safe Gluten Free places to eat.
I have been to Lexington a few times in the past couple months to visit a client. When I first got the gig I honesty didn’t have high hopes for finding many good food options. The truth is – Lexington rocks if you are gluten free! Here are some of my finds.
GLUTEN FREE MIRACLES
Gluten Free Miracles is a 100% gluten free bakery. They serve breakfast and lunch to include sandwiches and pizza. I went for breakfast during one of my visits.
I ordered a bacon egg biscuit and got a cinnamon roll to go. The biscuit was incredible! It was flaky, soft and not dense like a lot of gf biscuits.
They also have a big freezer section so you can take items home with you for later. The sliced bread seemed to be a popular item.
KENTUCKY ALE HOUSE
This is a restaurant INSIDE the Lexington airport. So the only way to get to it is to have a plane ticket. The manager has Celiac Disease and has made the menu 98% gluten free. They have a dedicated fryer, separate toaster and actually keep the gluten locked up in the corner!
I have gone for breakfast and dinner.
Dinner was mozzarella sticks and a wedge salad. The highlight was the mozzarella sticks! For real amazing.
Breakfast was eggs, bacon, potatoes and gf toast (Udi’s bun). I also begged them to start the fryer and make me mozzarella sticks.
BLUE SUSHI SAKE GRILL
Blue Sushi Sake Grill is in The Summit at Fritz Farm. The menu is clearly marked for gluten free items and the staff was very knowledgable.
I ordered the edamame and vegetable sushi. They have good deals for Happy Hour for food and drinks if you go early.
TEXAS DE BRAZIL
Texas De Brazil is a Brazilian steakhouse that has a large salad bar and servers come around to each table with different kinds of meat.
The manage walked me around the salad bar and let me know what was safe. She said all the meat was safe and the cheese bread they bring to the table is gluten free. The quality of the meat isn’t high but it is a fun environment and had lots of safe options.
I was very happy with how many gluten free options I had in Lexington and am looking forward to my next visit.
Happy gluten free travel!
