3 Tips to Enjoy your Gluten Free Halloween
-
Drop off safe treats to your neighbor’s houses
-
Have a bag of safe candy at the house to trade
-
Look for the teal pumpkins
The Drop Off
Create small bags filled with a few pieces of safe candy and drop them off at your neighbors house before the trick or treating starts. When your kids arrive the neighbors hand them the special bag of treats. Make sure to mix up the variety and to tell your neighbors what your kids will be dressed as.
The Trade
Have a few bags of safe candy at the house. Once you are done trick or treating spread the collected candy out on the table. For each piece of un-safe candy that gets taken out they get to pick a piece of the safe candy. This allows the kids to still have the same amount of candy that they collected and the end result is all safe.
Teal Pumpkins
The Teal Pumpkin Project has brought the allergy world to the forefront of Halloween. The point is to have a teal pumpkin on your step to show that you have non-food treats available. So regardless of your eating restrictions there will be a safe treat for you at the houses with a teal pumpkin.
