A crowd favorite in our house is Beef Stroganoff. Everyone eats it! It is a bit messy for the twins so when we eat it they normally get baths after. This version uses ground beef instead of beef tips or beef roast chunks. To make is easy I use some pre-packaged Gluten Free cream of mushroom soup. This Gluten Free recipe is adopted from this recipe.
What you Need
1 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 box of GF cream of mushroom soup
1 tbsp GF worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
1/3 cup mayo
1/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
16 oz bag GF pasta
Optional adds: mushrooms or green peppers
How to Make it
Cook beef and vegetables in a skillet over medium high heat, drain fat. Season with salt, pepper and worcestershire sauce. Add in soup, mayo, sour cream and milk. Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer while you boil the GF pasta. Serve the stroganoff over the noodles!
This dish heats up well the next day for lunch too!

Hi Pam — What kind of GF soup do you use for this? My mom’s stroganoff recipe is similar, and I’ve made my own cream of mushroom soup base for it before with milk, cornstarch, and spices, but I’d love the convenience of having one already made. I’ve seen Progresso’s cream of mushroom soup is GF, but it isn’t condensed…. Thanks!

Great question. If I use Pacific GF soup mix follow the directions above. I have used Progresso before and I just omitted the 1/2 cup of milk
Enjoy!

What brand noodles do you use? I’m using our store brand, Wegmans (I’m in NY). They hold up well, don’t turn to mush as quick as some others:) I can’t seem to find the soup though…..I may try Amazon.

Teri – I use Barilla or Ronzani GF noodles. They are both blended grains and work great! For the soup, you can buy it or make your own. Here is my recipe to make your own: http://www.imaceliac.com/2015/02/5-ingredient-gluten-free-cream-of-mushroom-soup.html
