I recently found out about a new company, Bloomfield Farms, making Gluten Free baking mixes and flour. I jumped at the opportunity to give them a try! They sent me a number of products to try so stay tuned for future reviews!
THE PRODUCT
I started with their Gluten Free Cookie Mix. The box had easy to follow instructions on the back. I decided to use white chocolate chips for mine. The only other variation that I did was add 1/4 cup of Gluten Free oats and another 2 tablespoons of water. I find that oats in cookies make them chewy! Even without the oats I think the extra water may be necessary as my batter was pretty dry without it. The instructions say to flatten the dough – make sure you do this! I didn’t flatten my first batch and they just stayed roundish balls. The flattened second batch came out better and didn’t take as long to cook.
The cookies came out super tasty and they had a good texture. I have tried a number of Gluten Free cookie mixes and this is the first one that didn’t have a gritty texture.
I also liked that the box had a number of varieties of cookies you could make like Peanut Butter and Ginger Cookies.
My Gluten eating hubby and mom both raved about how good they were! They are also very reasonably priced.
THE COMPANY
Bloomfield Farms makes 10 Gluten Free products in a dedicated Gluten Free, peanut free and kosher facility in Kentucky. The products are certified by the Celiac Spruce Association. They do make Gluten filled products but they are made in a separate facility.
**I was given the products to try but the opinions are my own.**
